Olive Picking Tour for FIT

The olive picking program consists in participating personally to the olives harvest, picking the olives from the trees with special rakes, and from the ground with special olive nets, putting the olives into big containers and tacking them to the local oil mill, assisting to the cold crushing of the olives and finally having the possibility to buy and take away the olive oil.

Accommodation will be in one of our wonderful monasteries that provides a safe and convenient refuge: Villa degli Ulivi.

1^ST DAY: ARRIVAL
2^ND DAY: OLIVE PICKING DAY Breakfast. Full day dedicated to the olive picking. You will work in team and experts will drive you through the picking, explaining the ancient and traditional methods used by Roman countrymen. You will work in a big park with 400 age old olive groves, which every year produce approx. 1000 litres of an excellent extra virgin olive oil. At the end of the picking, time at leisure to rest and relax, enjoying the beautiful view of Roman valley from terrace and parks of our Villas. Dinner and overnight.
3^RD DAY: ROMAN CASTLES After breakfast, we suggest a visit to the most characteristic places of the Castelli Romani, by rent-a-car or by private car with driver and English speaking guide. Along the "Road of the Lakes" passing through one of the hilly areas of volcanic origin which characterize the outskirts of Roma: Colli Albani, Castelgandolfo, Ariccia, Rocca di Papa e Grottaferrata, noted for their culture and gastronomic delicacies. Towards the northerly part of the Colli Albani, we arrive at Frascati, popular both for its beauty and considerable production of wine. We suggest a stop in a typical wine cellar where you can taste local wines and food. Return to the Villa, dinner and overnight.
4^TH DAY: ROME After breakfast, we suggest a visit by rent-a-car or by private car with driver and English speaking guide to the Eternal city, built on seven hills, one of the big metropolis in the world: Rome. In the morning, visit of Ancient Rome, including: Coliseum, Roman Forum, Palatine Hill and Fori Imperiali, until piazza Venezia. Free lunch. In the afternoon, your stroll continues through Via del Corso visiting other highlights of the city: Pantheon, piazza Navona, Fontana di Trevi, piazza di Spagna and piazza del Popolo. At the end, time at leisure for shopping and return to the Villa. This night is special for you: ZefiroWorld is prepared for you a special extra virgin oil olive tasting, served on local focaccia bread, on bruschetta bread and together with local cheese and salami, Frascati red and white wine. Overnight.
5^TH DAY: DEPARTURE or extension tour Breakfast. Transfer to Rome airport for home flight or… EXTEND YOUR STAY ENJOYING ACCOMMODATION IN OUR VILLAS AND MONASTERIES IN ROME, FLORENCE, VENICE ETC.
