Arrival in Rome. Pick-up the car at the car rental point at the airport.
In the afternoon free visit of the "Eternal City" build on seven hills
on the banks of the river "Tiber". See the unique Ancient, Renaissance
and Baroque monuments and churches. Check-in in one of our former religious
houses. Free dinner and overnight.
Day 2
CASTELLI ROMANI: After breakfast, departure to visit the most
characteristic places of the Castelli Romani. Along the "Road of the
Lakes" passing through one of the hilly areas of volcanic origin which
characterize the outskirts of Roma: Colli Albani, Castelgandolfo, Ariccia, Rocca
di Papa e Grottaferrata, noted for their culture and gastronomic delicacies.
Towards the northerly part of the Colli Albani, we arrive at Frascati, popular
both for its beauty and considerable production of wine. We suggest a stop in a
typical wine cellar where you can taste local wines and food. Return to the
Villa, free dinner and overnight.
Day 3 ROME:
After breakfast, guided visit to St. Peters Cathedral and Vatican Museums.
Free lunch. In the afternoon, guided visit to Renaissance and Baroque Rome with
its world-famous Squares and Fountains. Free dinner. Overnight.
Day 4 -TODI
ORVIETO: After breakfast, departure to the city of Todi. Free
visit of the city dominating the Tiber Valley and famous for its churches,
palaces , Etruscan and Roman monuments. Free lunch. Continue to Orvieto,
situated on a hill and world famous for its magnificent cathedral. Discover
"Underground Orvieto", with its caverns full of history, situated
under the heart of the City and taste the local products. Free dinner. Overnight
in one of our former religious houses in Assisi.
Day 5 ASSISI
BEVEGNA MONTEFALCO: Breakfast. In the morning guided tour of Assisi,
known for the Basilica of St. Francis, consisting of two churches built
on top of each other. The Lower Church guards the remains of the saint, while
the upper Church is decorated with 28 frescos, showing scenes from his life,
painted by Giotto. Free lunch. In the afternoon travel to Bevagna,
ancient city, unique for its Piazza Silvestri, free from all symmetry and
consisting of two churches and Palazzo dei Consoli. Free visit to the
ancient town of Montefalco. A city that offers views of extraordinary
beauty, celebrated in literature and remembered with the name "Balcony of
Umbria". This is also the production area of the wines Sagrantino
D.O.C.G. and the Rosso di Montefalco D.O.C.. Return to hotel, free
dinner and overnight.
Day 6 DERUTA
TORGIANO: After breakfast departure to Deruta, enchanting
little town famous for the manufacturing and exposition of artistic ceramics.
Possibility to visit a ceramic factory. In the afternoon visit of Torgiano,
city of the Lungarotti D.O.C.G. and DOC wines. Visit the famous wine
cellars, the Wine Museum with wine tasting. Free dinner and overnight.
Day 7
SPOLETO FONTI DEL CLITUNNO TREVI: After breakfast departure
to Spoleto and free visit of this fascinating city, at the feet of the Rocca
Albornoziana. Stop at the enchanting and often praised springs of the
Clitunno. In the afternoon visit of the medieval town of Trevi. We
suggest to stop at a typical shop to taste bruschetta with the typical olive oil
Olio Umbro D.O.P. Free dinner and overnight.
Day 8 ROME
HOME: After breakfast, departure to Rome. Arrival at the airport,
drop-off of the car and check-in for the flight back.
