Popes of Lombardy

Lombardy gave birth to three great popes in the 20th century: Pius the 11th, John the 23rd and Paul the 6th. The most famous among them is certainly Pope John, who will be beatified by Pope John Paul the 2nd. Thousands of pilgrims come to Lombardy every year attracted by his figure, and thanks to him they find faith, hope and love. It is an unrepeatable chance to revisit Lombardy, together with two other son of hers, called to govern the Church during the 20th century: Pius the 11th and Paul the 6th.

1st day: Place of origin – Concesio – Brescia – Bergamo. The group leaves for Concesio, birthplace of Pope Paul the 6th. Lunch in a restaurant. We continue our journey to Brescia. Visit of the chief monument of the city. At the end we go to Bergamo. Dinner and overnight stay in a hotel.
2nd day: Bergamo – Sotto il monte – Desio. The group spends the morning visiting the city. Lunch in restaurant. In the afternoon the group leaves for Sotto il Monte; visit of the places of Pope Roncalli. We continue our journey to Desio. Dinner and overnight stay in hotel.
3rd day: Desio – Milano – Place of origin. Breakfast and visit of the Basilica, the birthplace and the museum of Pope Pius the 11th. The journey continues to Milan. Lunch in a restaurant. In the afternoon we visit the Ambrosiana Picture-gallery, the Cathedral and the Basilica of St. Ambrose. Dinner and overnight stay in hotel.
4th day: Milano – Garda lake – Place of origin. The whole day is dedicated to the visit of the Garda Lake area: Peschiera, Gardone and Sirmione. Lunch in a restaurant. In the afternoon the group goes back to the place of origin.
